This weekend’s San Francisco Pride festivities are over. From Friday’s Trans March to Amy Schneider’s impassioned speech on Sunday afternoon, to Martha Wash’s headlining performance, the weekend was filled with joyous celebrations of LGBTQ culture.
Although Pride had already featured nearly a month of programming, Sunday’s march was the main event and attendees didn’t hold back. The Civic Center neighborhood was buzzing with excitement, with the smell of bacon-wrapped hot dogs filling the air as performers on stilts paraded down the street. Stalls throughout the area promoted LGBTQ organizations and sold rainbow-colored souvenirs, and many orders of garlic fries were consumed.
